The legal occupational title is "Patent Attorney" or "Professional Representative before the European Patent Office" or "European Patent Attorney".

German Patent Attorneys are subject to the professional rules laid down in the Patentanwaltsordnung (BGBl. I 1966, p. 557, last changed by BGBl. I 2001, p. 3656), the Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte (Code of Conduct for Patent Attorneys) (Comm. 1997, 243 ff.); the FICPI Code of Professional Conduct (PDF document, 280 kB) and the Code of Professional Conduct of the epi (epi information 2/2001, p. 75).

The Attorneys at Law are members of the Chamber of Attorneys at Law in Cologne.

The legal occupational German title is "Rechtsanwalt".

German Attorneys at Law are subject to the professional rules laid down in the The Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO), the Rules of Professional Practice (BORA), the "Fachanwaltsordnung" (FAO), the "Berufsregeln der Rechtsanwälte der Europäischen Union" (CCBE Code of Conduct), the "Gesetz über die Tätigkeit europäischer Rechtsanwälte in der BRD" (EuRAG) und dem Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz (RVG).
