Dr. Cassian Gottlieb is a physicist (M.Sc. Applied Physics) and holds a doctorate in natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) with a focus on physics. He has been with dompatent since 2026 and supports the firm as a German and European patent attorney trainee in the handling of national and international intellectual property proceedings.
His technical focus lies in physics, particularly in laser technology and optical methods. In addition, he has solid expertise in electrical engineering, especially in measurement and sensor technology, as well as in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Further areas of expertise include materials science, particularly metallic as well as non-metallic inorganic materials, and materials analysis.
Dr. Gottlieb studied physics at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences (M.Sc. Applied Physics) and subsequently earned his doctorate at the Clausthal University of Technology at the Institute of Non-Metallic Materials in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin.
Prior to joining the patent profession, he worked as an application engineer in a medium-sized industrial company in the field of laser-based measurement technology.
